Curatorial Note

Interventions in the canvas between the application of layers of pigment result in a recording of the previous states of the surface in this series of works exploring perception of relief and ambiguity. This series of paintings feature illusions of depth, surface and light that may bring to the mind of the viewer subjects as large as landscapes, as small as jewels and everything in between. This piece is shipped wired to be displayed in the orientation shown but is intended to be hung in any orientation. These works benefit from hanging sympathetic to the light sources in the room they are displayed.
