Charlotte Loukes

Charlotte grew up in East Anglia under giant skies and on endless beaches. She studied Painting at Chelsea College of Art in London and since then has exhibited at galleries in London, Manchester and West Sussex. She now lives and works in West Sussex, with its rolling chalk downs and ancient footpaths.

Charlotte's paintings are about place, time and history. Fascinated by geoglyphs, archeology and palaeontology and inspired by folktales and spiritual beliefs,  Fossils are a fiction created by the material around them in the same way our experience of the world around us is formed by stories we tell and are told.
